Frontend Specialty

The frontend developer is a fundamental part of the web team who works in close proximity to backend developers. Whereas the backend developer focuses on the internal functioning of the application -- the “plumbing” -- the frontend developer builds the interface that users see. They’re often in charge of:

  • Ensuring consistency between site visuals and mockups
  • Optimizing page loading time
  • Communicating with backend developers for information exchange across the application
  • Using best practices to structure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code as components
  • Writing tests to ensure the site’s frontend accounts for all possible uses
  • Ensuring the maintenance and growth of a site’s frontend

You’ll have to follow the best practices and choose the best libraries for the needs at hand. You’ll learn all of these elements during this path!
