Create website interfaces, styles, and animations like the ones you know and use everyday.


Web developers are responsible for creating great-looking, performant websites based on the needs of their client or company. In particular, they’ll need to:

  • Analyze coding needs via project briefs written by a client or product manager
  • Define how an application or site should function
  • Study a range of technical solutions and choose the best one
  • Develop and test application and site features
  • Write documentation to clearly explain a project or feature
  • Fix bugs and release updates


Frontend Specialty

The frontend developer is a fundamental part of the web team who works in close proximity to backend developers. Whereas the backend developer focuses on the internal functioning of the application -- the “plumbing” -- the frontend developer builds the interface that users see. They’re often in charge of:

  • Ensuring consistency between site visuals and mockups
  • Optimizing page loading time
  • Communicating with backend developers for information exchange across the application
  • Using best practices to structure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code as components
  • Writing tests to ensure the site’s frontend accounts for all possible uses
  • Ensuring the maintenance and growth of a site’s frontend

You’ll have to follow the best practices and choose the best libraries for the needs at hand. You’ll learn all of these elements during this path!
